House warming

Rod and Sarah
Rod and Sarah have recently moved into a new house. Baby arrives in a few weeks time. Bob and I were invited to the house warming over the bank holiday weekend. The weather was good and so we were all out in the garden having a great time meeting lots of people and enjoying the delicious food.

Dog trials
Here we are at the sheep dog trials in the countryside near Rod and Sarah's on a wonderful sunny day, perched on a hillside. Can't believe how clever the dogs and their keepers are. Afterwards we called in for a cream tea in Lambourne. It was in the vicarage garden. Bob bought some raffle tickets and later we discovered that we had won a prize!

Ep and me

West India Dock Party

Yesterday afternoon we drove down to the West India Docks. They were holding the annual Global Village Party. Tons of white sand had been transported here to make an extensive, temporary children's beach, complete with deck-chairs and beach-theme accessories like Punch and Judy (and why didn't I take a photo?).
Our friend Toni, from tango, was organizing the dance stage, which he calls "Global Village". It is the most inclusive event I know. Everybody was encouraged to have a go, and there were all kinds of dance displays and workshops including, bollywood, majorettes, line-dancing and belly-dancing, as well as ballroom, tango and swing.
We met Jackie, with her daughter-in-law and grand-daughter, Freya and Lola.
