Dover Street Wine Bar

One of our regular haunts in the heart of Mayfair, just opposite the Ritz. We're well known there now. Arrive before ten and it's free, live music, lovely dance floor where Ep and I can strut our stuff in front of the winers and diners. Monday is often swing/blues night. This Monday it was TJ Johnson whom we often catch at the King's Head on Tuesdays. Ep fancies the drummer. The sax player has just married Jane, a top lindy-hopper. Other bands that play here are "Blue Harlem" and "Fallen Heroes". Seymour (of "Seymour's Jump", was playing there last Wednesday, he played at Ep's 50th). On Monday, only a handful of dancers turned up, I think they were recovering from the Dulwich Ball on Sunday. We missed that, preferring Tango at the Factory on our doorstep.

Early morning in Finsbury Park Posted by Hello

Sunday Morning

I couldn't sleep. Got up at six and trotted round Finsbury Park with the camera. I've put in a couple of photos here, the rest are in the appendix (click on "Sunday Morning" to see more).
It's Monday afternoon, it's started to rain. I hope there's a band on at Dover Street tonight!

They're coming!

Peter and Maisy, in Wellington. She's the star! (he's the trainer). Their tour starts next month, she's been selected to head the team where she plays scrum half (is it the Warratahs or the Chieftains?).
